How can I tell if my roof has wind or hail damage after a May storm?
Some signs are visible from the ground. Others require a trained eye on the roof itself.
Watch for:
- Missing, lifted, or curling shingles
- Granule loss showing up in gutters or downspout runoff
- Dented or cracked shingles (hail leaves circular impact marks)
- Damaged flashing around vents, chimneys, or skylights
- Leaks or water stains appearing on interior ceilings
What looks minor from the outside can mean compromised underlayment and decking underneath. A free inspection takes the guesswork out of it — and gives you documentation if you need to file an insurance claim.
